This page is dedicated as a vessel for the work I have completed thus far in my implementation of a disruptive innovation in my school district. My goal is to utilize free, donated iPhones in classrooms. In a district that has a vast amount of resources, including Google Chromebooks, the addition of iPhones will bridge the gap between the personal use of technology and the students’ experience in a scholastic environment. Below you will find documents that are constantly evolving, as well as forms of media to support my proposal.
To assure that donors are comfortable parting with their old devices, my administrative team requested that I create a form that would protect the school district from potential issues with content on the iPhones if donated without the proper procedures being followed.
When creating projects or forms of media that involve students, it is required to get permission from their legal guardians. I created a form to communicate with my student families to assure safety and inform them of my intentions.
The outline of my proposal begins with the acquisition of hardware and conceptual understanding. Determining realistic expectations for my plan is crucial in establishing experiences that will enhance student learning.
I am in the process of implementing change in my district. My proposal is to bring in fully functional iPhones for my students at no cost to the district. From there, I am exploring the applications we can use to create some remarkable experiences and enhance student learning.
When designing my first infographic, I had difficulty embedding it directly into my site. The link above takes you to this attempt. Below, you will find my new design. I learned to embed it directly into my blog post by utilizing an HTML snippet plugin.
